Are we now a nation of royalists? Should we just rejoin the united kingdom?

everyone is gushing about the queen. it was a nice few days yeah and although id be of a nationalist persuasion, it was good to see her acknowledging some things. but today three friends of mine were wishing we were subjects to the queen, 'shur we're practically english anyway', and ive heard a few other things like this since...makes me kinda quesy.
